Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming is one of Jerry’s favorite places and “Old Faithful” is a famous geyser located there. Jerry was always wanting to paint this landmark yet never got around to it before now. “Old Faithful” is a great representation of such awesome beauty and power in nature and now you have it as a great study. Several aspects of instructional learning are included, i.e., sky, distant trees, glazing, rocks, values, multi-layered formations, mist, steam, and an added bonus: the toothbrush-splatter technique. Using my own photo of Old Faithful, and following the instructions on this video, I was able to produce a VERY satisfactory rendition of this phenomenon. I could not be happier with the results.
