Skill Level: Beginner-Intermediate
Two distinct desert ecosystems, the Mojave and the Colorado, come together in Joshua Tree National Park. A fascinating variety of plants and animals make their homes in a land sculpted by strong winds and occasional torrents of rain. Dark night skies, a rich cultural history, and surreal geologic features add to the wonder of this vast wilderness in southern California.* Lots of techniques embedded in this one, with the Verbena flower stealing a portion of this artwork. You’ll not want to delay getting this one started!

Charles Eisener –
There is a lot on this DVD, particularly for one with no exposure to this type of landscape. I have been using acrylics for quite a few years but have not painted that regularly. I like Jerry’s approach and learned a lot from the broadcast of this series. Having the DVD permits me to pause as needed to fully appreciate Jerry’s explanations and follow along with mini studies and exercises. Some of the ideas and techniques have already been incorporated into other pieces with completely different subject matter. Well worth the money!
