Those who knew Jerry Yarnell personally, knew him not as the outspoken person you see on TV. Jerry was quite the opposite. Usually very quiet, more of a listener than a speaker. That is is until the subject of our Lord made its way into a conversation. Then you saw Jerry’s eyes sparkle and his words would start to come out. You see, Jerry had several passions. He loved the outdoors; he loved painting but most of all he loved God. When those three came together, well you could watch and listen to a man “in his element”.
As the story goes, while filming episodes of the PBS program Paint This with Yarnell, this particular day, Jerry told the videographer, “I’m feeling a little different today. If you don’t mind, no matter where the painting takes me, no matter what I say, just keep filming”. The result is what we have here; Jerry weaving his passion for the outdoors, art and the Lord together into one single gift to you.
We know for a fact that Jerry wanted to share the footage below with everyone. For that reason, we bring these videos out from behind the “pay wall”, making them accessible not just to YSO members but to everyone. Jerry’s gift to you.
When you watch these videos, we hope you are blessed by what Jerry pours into you from God’s word. Also know that God’s word is sort of an enigma. You see, although the truth in God’s words as spoken in the past is the same truth today and is the same truth that is to come. God’s word does not change. God’s word can, however, speak to one’s heart differently from day to day. Whether you are a close follower of the Lord and have an intimate relationship with Him or you have not yet begun a journey with the Lord, we invite you to watch the videos below and absorb what God says to you, pouring out of Jerry into you through God. You see, although God’s word is the stable truth that does not change, it can speak to you in different ways and fill your heart differently according to the voids you may have, filling your heart differently from one day to another. Watch the videos. Let them speak to you. Then, days, weeks or even months later come back and watch them again and you’ll see what we mean. You may find it speaks to you differently each time.
