This beautiful swamp scene is very rich in various green tones. Green tones are one of the more difficult color-schemes to work with – which is why I chose this painting. I will be looking for the proper gradation of values – starting with the very back layer of trees. I will also be looking for proper leaf techniques and the proper structuring of the trunks of all of the trees plus of course good script-brush work for smaller limbs and weeds. Finally, I will be looking for the proper application of reflections in the water. Good luck!
