Rolling Hills, Eroded Bank, Large Dead Tree (Summer or Spring) 05

Back to assignments

Season – Late Summer
Size – 15 x 30 Acrylic – Vertical Format

This painting is a bit more complicated. I will be looking for the proper mixtures of greens and your ability to gray them correctly to create the many layers of depth. Also, I will be looking at the different groups of tree formations and how you arrange them to create good compositional eye flow. Of course the large dead tree is a key subject and I will be looking for structure, negative space, and tapering of limbs. Your script brush will get a good work out on this one. Also, the eroded banks must be well proportioned to the rest of the landscape.

Value changes
– this painting should have 6-7 value changes.
