Size – Please choose from one of the following sizes: 18 x 24, 16 x 20 or 15 x 30. This will be a Horizontal Format. Acrylic Medium.
Time of Day – Optional

Well here it is – the final surprise (Test painting). I will give you the subject and basic objects and atmosphere. Your job is to create this painting from scratch – beginning with researching the objects, doing thumbnail sketches to work out composition, design, negative space, eye stoppers, perspective, values, color coordination, i.e., compliments and color harmony, plus proper placement of shadows and reflections.

Value changes – this painting should have 5-6 value changes.

These are the objects I would like to see in this final painting:

  1. Stormy or semi-cloudy sky (maybe sunset)
  2. 3 Values of distant hills or mountains (overall value system for complete painting should be 6-7 values)
  3. Pine Trees, Live and Dead Trees
  4. Regular Leafy Trees
  5. Body of Water – Stream, Lake or River
  6. Winding dirt road or pathway (if possible)
  7. Boulders or rocks
  8. Old building, broken fence, etc
  9. Grassy meadow with flowers
  10. Tall weeds and small tree saplings to show your ability to handle script brush.

This will be a lot of fun, so grab your brushes and get started – I can’t wait to see what you come up with!  Good luck!
