Adding another exciting subject to Jerry’s collection of instructional paintings from each State, this tribute is about Arizona! Specifically, a 70-mile drive in a section of country between Payson to Tempe and NE Phoenix that’s full of life and color – very beautiful. You’ll love this one with mountains, cactus, rock formations, dry wash, brush, flowers, sky, a drifted area of sand and dirt, and more! This is a painting that Jerry completely composed live on camera – by that we mean he had no previously created composite – only the reference photos that he took while in this lovely area! This is something he challenges his students to do more often — use the tried-and-true Yarnell fine-art techniques to create your own original composite from what you have learned and from reference material you have gathered.
