3 of History’s Greatest Painters

The history of the human race is told through many mediums. One of the most beautiful ways is through our ability to share what’s going on in the world around us through art. When visiting museums, we are able to see paintings that give us views of what the world was like through various perspectives.

Luckily, many of these artistic expressions not only survived but have continued inspiring new generations of artists. People can take an art class for adults to learn how to paint and hopefully become good enough to have their paintings survive for further generations. But it’s not every day that natural talent has the ability to develop into masterful art. To help get your artistic juices flowing, check out this list and get to know three of history’s greatest painters.

1. Leonardo Da Vinci

Arguably the most widely recognized of all painters, Leonardo Da Vinci has left quite an impact on our world today. Born on April 15, 1452, Leonardo was not only a painter, but also an engineer, sculptor, scientist, and architect, among other things. His work has inspired many artists throughout history, such as the equally noteworthy Michelangelo. He may not have taken an official art class for adults, but he was a student of art from an early age.

2. Rembrandt

Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn was born on July 15, 1606, and was a Golden Age painter. Well-known for his detailed self-portraits, he also specialized in landscapes, historical scenes, and mythological themes. Like Da Vinci, Rembrandt had several subjects outside of the easel that he found interest in, such as printmaking.

3. Vincent van Gogh

Born March 30, 1853, Vincent van Gogh didn’t achieve notoriety until after his death in 1890. Like Rembrandt, he was a Dutch painter of the Post-Impressionist era. He is considered to be one of the most influential painters of the modern era.

These painters, along with countless others, shaped the art world. In 2021, the art market was valued at over 65 billion dollars, which was a huge increase from 2020, according to Statista. So, taking an art class for adults could make a big difference in your life. Not only could you share a moment in time with future generations, but if you’re successful, you could make a decent living.
