A few months ago I was in North Carolina and started watching your program on the TV in the hotel and got so excited. I have been meaning to get back to painting for almost 25 years and you gave me the inspiration to get back to my artistic side and dream again. Will be doing online course. Thank you and God bless you and your family.

I watch the TV broadcast every Sunday before I go to church and I find it so value. Not just because of the painting but because you also tell what to do when you're discouraged and quit painting. Knowing that other artists, especially one like you who has become a professional, have gone through the same kind of thoughts and feelings, has really helped me get back up and paint again. Thanks, so much!

I have been enjoying your TV instructional program for a few years, and find it very informative, inspirational, as well as instructional.
Until recently, I never attempted to paint anything that was part of your programs, but on seeing you paint a glass of wine, etc. I was enthused about trying it myself, but with my own composition. There isn't an attachment icon on this page, otherwise I would forward it to you. I will however, I your critique program is available in Canada, send it on for your criticism, etc.
I would appreciate your reply. thanks for a great program, and hope it is never discontinued. Kate c.

I'm 64 years old, been painting since I was 19. I've never had a lesson from anyone in
all these years. I really enjoy your PBS Show, which comes out on Saturday afternoon at
3:00PM, I never miss an episode. I've learned so much from your program and hope that
you continue it for many years to come. Keep reminding us, "Negative Space." It never
gets said enough. Thanks for everything and god bless.

Hello, I had a question about splatter method in the foreground to help give the impression of rocks and sand over the underpinnings. The only thing I saw was for splatter to make stars. Main question is how to make slightly bigger splatters. I'm only getting fine.

Looking for an episode that I saw on TV a couple of years ago.... It was a painting of a old gnarled tree by a pond. I think you said it was close to your studio (I could be wrong about that). I started my own painting, wanting to paint along with you, but life got in the way..... I just found the painting and wanted to finish it but can't find the episode or any of your painting that remotely resemble that painting. Is it possible for you to help me find it? Thanks in advance.
Would need more information to identify which subject image you're referring to. We did just do one called "Artful Refuge" which is an area that one can view from the front porch of Jerry's Studio.

love your show as I am trying to learn how to paint
I am a biologist and as much as I respect seagulls for their beach cleaning activity, they do not come out at night
artistic license is cool but I couldn't help chuckling
no big deal, I just had to contact you
keep smiling paul

I've been watching you on CreateTV here in NE PA. I've learned so much about layering and blending colors, highlighting, and creating depth in a painting. Even though I have little interest in painting itself, the color work and other components of your painting give me inspiration for doing art quilts. Your easy manner and explanations of all you do are quite helpful. Thanks a bunch.

Hi Jerry as a dyslexic I have always been able to carve as I see every thing in 3 dementions from the inside . In painting I find that I must step threw the picture to the inside looking outward at the picture in my mind to see proper perspective from the inside. Being dyslexic and borderline autistic I find it opens a whole new world for. Thank you for what I have learned. .Michael Lesperance a dedicated fan.

New to acrylics. Watercolor long ago. I hope I still have "the touch". With help, I may have a piece I am happy with. Happy Painting.

Thanks so much for your show. It is always informative and helpful. I have been painting for about 45 years but I still have problems with overworking and getting everything too dark. I would love to come to one of your classes. I feel drawing is a little easier for me but I think I have picked up some pretty bad habits. I have done painting for community theater and all have been well received but they don't have the effortless accuracy of your work. Keep doing your beautiful work. You are an inspiration.

I have just found your painting program on UNC TV here in Ncn. Can you explain to me why all teachers begin painting a tree with a brown color? Trees are brown only if dead. Sorry but trees are grey. I enjoy your program very much. God has richly blessed you with a good eye. Continue using the talent God gave you. Thank you

Hi Jerry. I love watching you and the other artists on UNC TV. I feel as if I am learning from you. One thing I wish you would talk about is your palette. I was taught to keep the pallete clean which is very hard to do with water color. I notice your palette is the dirtier than mine. How do you use it and not get the paints muddy?

Hi Jerry
Love to watch your painting shows. Im teaching myself to paint. I love it. Funny thing is when I was in middle school i wanted to be an artist. I couldnt draw as well as my classmates. Now Im 56 I just started painting. Im so surprised. Its my therapy! The show you did with a mailbox. You said the mailbox post was in a grain can? Its actually a milk can. My dad use to pick up milk from farms in Vermont an this is what milk was put in many years ago from farms. I wish I had a couple of them now. I hope you continue to have your shows on PBS for along time. Youre awesome!!!

Jerry, I have been watching your "Paint This" show for quite a while now and I just today decided to try your web site. I found the info about you being a minister and it caught my eye, being a child of the King myself. I listened to your sermon and watched you paint and was so inspired by you. I thank God that He has saved you to carry on His Word. You have a wonderful ministry! I wish you lived closer to me so that you could come to my church. I'm an artist but I've never been brave enough to do much with selling my works. But I love to paint for people. Like you, I love to see the happy faces. I'm not the greatest but God has blessed me enough to share it with my friends and family. I would love to be able to take your classes but that is just a dream of mine. May God bless you in all you do!! And if you're ever going to be near Pinehurst, North Carolina please let me know. God bless!

Good Morning Jerry & Donna! I have recently begun to replenish my spirit and my studio after the loss of my husband of 39 yrs. from lung & brain cancer. For the past year, I have been unable to even clear my mind enough to pick up my brushes (I have painted for 40 yrs), but on the week of his passing this month I suddenly snapped out of my fog, and began watching many of your cds & books I had purchased from you in the past. I now feel a renewed sense of picking up where I left off 3 yrs. ago today. I give thanks to God, and for helping me find my way back to your painting lessons and methods. You once did me the honor of critiquing my painting of cardinals in a snowy pinee tree, and told me refreshing came to your mind. Thank you so much Jerry & Ms. Donna for providing me with orders so promptly, and helping me to once again ,to begin again-something I know that Jerry is all-too familiar with. God Bless you both, and I wish you continued success with all of your endeavors! Sincerely, Cheryl Jones
Thank you Cheryl, God Bless!

I discovered your PBS show shortly before my husband died of Alzheimer's. As his caregiver I rarely had time to paint and as the disease progressed, not at all. Before the disease, we did art shows together, with him doing all the setting up of canopy, panels, etc. I had little desire to paint after he died. But, watching your shows rekindled my enthusiasm to pick up the brushes once again. Your teaching style and technics with acrylic and water mixable oil especially spurred me on. I am now painting again; my paintings are in a gallery and I am active in our local art association. My daughter started watching your show and she is now painting and we are doing shows together. God bless you Jerry, for you were truly used of the Lord in helping me, a great-grandmother 82 years old.
